SRE - Special Religious Education
At Jordan Springs Public School, SRE is delivered on Wednesdays.
Kindy - 9:30am-10:10am Year 3 - & Year 4- 12:05pm-12:35pm
Year 1 - 10:20am-10:50am Year 5 & Year 6 - 12:40pm-1:10pm
Year 2 - 11:30am- 12:00pm
On enrolment parents/carers will be asked for their SRE preference. After the initial enrolment, notification of changes to a child's enrolment in SRE should be given to the school, in writing via email.
A parent/carer may at any time notify the school in writing that they wish to change their decision. Students will continue the same arrangement as the previous year, unless a parent/carer has requested a change in writing.
The following SRE classes are offered at Jordan Springs Public School:
Combined Christian SRE is provided by the Anglican Diocese of Sydney
Combined Christian SRE curriculum
Catholic SRE is provided by the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta
Islamic SRE is provided by Islamic Council of NSW (Greenacre)
NON- SRE - Alternative Meaningful Activities
During the time that SRE classes are being held, students not attending ( Non-SRE) will be located in a separate space and will participate in Alternative meaningful activities. Activities could include reading, private study or completing homework.
